What is Inoculant?

Forage inoculants are mixtures of lyophilized (freeze-dried) bacteria for use in the fermentation of forage to silage. They contain strains of lactic acid bacteria and propionic acid bacteria in combinations for grass silage preservation and corn silage aerobic stability.

L. buchneri 40788 was originally isolated and proven effective by world leading forage scientists at the ID-DLO in Holland. In independent and commercial trials worldwide. L. buchneri 40788 has consistently reduced heating and spoilage by yeasts and molds in a range of forages. Forages are more stable, meaning less wastage, more forage to feed, better intakes and better hygienic feed quality.
